Import OpenAI usage CSV
If you already have a month of OpenAI usage, entering it row by row is a waste of time. Export it once as a CSV and let Meterlark's importer do the mapping.
Export usage from the OpenAI platform
In your OpenAI organization dashboard, find the usage or billing section and export your usage as a CSV. Export by the date range you want tracked — a full month is the usual choice.
Open Import CSV inside a project
In Meterlark, open the project this usage belongs to and choose Import CSV from the project's actions.
Upload the file
Upload the exported CSV. The importer reads the header row and matches common column names for date, model, input tokens, output tokens and cost automatically — you don't need to rename anything to a fixed template first.
Review the preview before confirming
Check the row count and spot-check a few rows against the original export. Any model the importer doesn't recognize against Meterlark's pricing dataset is flagged in the preview so you can fix or skip it, rather than being silently dropped or mispriced.
Confirm the import
Once the preview looks right, confirm. Rows land as usage entries tagged with a CSV source, separate from anything entered manually, so you can always tell where a given entry came from later.
If your export already includes a total cost column, Meterlark keeps that reported figure rather than recomputing it — useful if you want the import to match your actual OpenAI invoice exactly rather than Meterlark's computed estimate.
